Newport News Shipbuilding will implement hot weather hours for shipbuilders assigned to areas of the yard most impacted by heat. The schedule change, which will be in effect from June 16 through Aug. 31, allows NNS to proactively keep shipbuilders safe while remaining committed to the mission.

Supervisors will notify shipbuilders impacted by the schedule change by June 9. All other areas of the shipyard will continue to work the standard shift schedule and implement hot weather precautions as necessary.
