Jaredd Koons (K47) was recognized with a Level One On-the-Spot Ethics Award for assisting two people involved in a serious accident.

Koons was driving when he saw a vehicle crash and go off the highway over an embankment. He pulled over and saw the vehicle precariously suspended above a creek bed by tree limbs. Smelling gas fumes and feeling the vehicle shift as they moved, Koons and another motorist broke open the damaged driver’s door to remove the driver and a young child and help them up a steep hill to the highway.

Lucas Hicks, vice president of Operations, met with Koons to present the award and thank him for his actions.
