The Hampton Roads Heart Walks are just around the corner, and it’s time to join a team or show your support by purchasing a Newport News Shipbuilding Heart Walk T-shirt.

The Heart Walk, organized by the American Heart Association, is a nationwide celebration and fundraising event to combat heart disease and stroke, two of the country’s leading causes of death. Shipbuilders are encouraged to join existing NNS teams or create new ones to walk, fundraise and support lifesaving research and prevention programs.

Whether you’re a seasoned Heart Walk participant or just curious, there’s a place for you in this campaign. Here’s how to make an impact:

• Create or Join a Team: Rally your department, employee resource group, or group of friends. Register here.
• Make a Donation: Every dollar helps fund critical research and education.
• Buy a T-shirt: NNS Heart Walk T-shirts are now available.
• Attend a walk: Choose one of the two locations and represent NNS.

Shipbuilders can support the cause by purchasing a T-shirt for themselves, their family or friends. Contact a Heart Walk team captain or use the order form on the MyNNS Heart Walk site to purchase T-shirts for $15 each. New this year, shipbuilders can now purchase youth T-shirts.
