Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. For the past several years, Newport News Shipbuilding has hosted in-person celebrations for shipbuilders to honor Dr. King’s legacy. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the company is commemorating the holiday virtually this year.

For generations, men and women from different backgrounds have come together to build the ships that help defend our freedom. Values Dr. King advocated – such as respect, diversity and civility – are fundamental at NNS and help define who we are.

As we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, please take some time to think about what you can do – no matter your position – to help make NNS a better place for all of us.
