2024 Safety Song Contest Deadline is Friday, Aug. 2
Published July 31, 2024
Employees are reminded that the submission window is open for the Safety Song Contest. Entries will be accepted through Aug. 2.
The contest is open to all shipbuilders. All genres will be considered, and music must be written and performed by Newport News Shipbuilding employees. Lyrics must incorporate shipyard safety themes. The Safety Song Committee will select the top songs, and shipbuilders will have an opportunity to vote for the winner in August on the NNS to Go app.
The contest winner will be announced on Aug. 21. The winner will receive a number of prizes, including a professionally produced music video for their song, a VIP tour of the shipyard for the winner and their family, two VIP tickets to the Arkansas (SSN 800) christening ceremony, and mentoring sessions with NNS senior leaders. The winner will also have a chance to perform their song live at Coastal Fermentory.
