Fellow Shipbuilders,

As Memorial Day approaches, we are mindful and reflect upon the true meaning of the day – one that remembers the courage, dedication and sacrifice made in the name of freedom. It is because of those who made the ultimate sacrifice that we are able to spend the holiday weekend as we so choose.

Please take a moment to honor those who gave their all for us, and also reflect on what it means to be a shipbuilder – not just what we do, but why and how we do it. Newport News Shipbuilding has served our nation for over a century and we must always remember that our work enables and protects patriotic Americans who put themselves in harm’s way for our freedom. Letting them down is not an option.

Thank you for choosing to be a Newport News Shipbuilder and for what you do in service of the great Americans who are willing to sacrifice everything for the freedoms we enjoy. Please be safe and enjoy your time away.
