Men’s and women’s basketball teams from the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School won their New South Athletic Conference Tournament Championships Sunday.

A 99-41 win over Millennia Atlantic University led to the first conference championship in program history for the women.

A 69-60 win over URBE University led to the third conference championship for the men.

Both Builders teams earned No. 6 seeds in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) national tournament. The women’s team will take on Paul Quinn College on March 3, and the men’s team will face Bryant & Stratton College – Syracuse.
