Newport News Shipbuilding’s Apprentice School is hosting a family-friendly fall festival before its homecoming game on Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Apprentice School football field (next to Bldg. 600).

The festival begins at 11 a.m. with food trucks, music, games, bounce houses, face painting, a costume contest, line dancing and a trunk-or-treat.

The event is free and open to shipbuilders and their friends and family, but attendees must register in advance. Registration includes one food ticket and one dessert ticket.

Shipbuilders interested in hosting during the trunk-or-treat are responsible for bringing their own treats. There will be recognition and prizes for winning trunks.

Volunteers are needed for registration, vendor assistance, setup and breakdown. Shipbuilders or departments interested in volunteering should email [email protected].
