Apprentice School Observes National Suicide Prevention Month

Published September 25, 2024

The Apprentice School recently hosted a table with mental health resources to mark National Suicide Prevention Month, which is observed in September. Faculty and apprentices were encouraged to share the materials and were reminded of the need to care for themselves and others.

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), suicide is a leading cause of death in the U.S. and the third leading cause of death among people aged 15 to 24.

September marks a time to remember lives lost to suicide, recognize those who need support, and embrace challenging conversations with friends, family and coworkers.

If you or someone you know is struggling or experiencing a crisis, call or text 988 to be connected to a trained counselor through the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
