The latest edition of Around the Yard at NNS features Thomas Hatfield, an inside machinist in Newport News Shipbuilding’s Machine Shop. Inspired by his Master Shipbuilder grandfather, Hatfield funnels his love of working on cars and mechanical systems into the work he does supporting the construction of U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and submarines.
