August is Ethics and Compliance Awareness Month

Published August 5, 2026

Newport News Shipbuilding is observing Ethics and Compliance Awareness Month in August.

The purpose of the month is to highlight the company values of integrity, safety, respect, engagement, responsibility and performance, as well as outline ethical standards and foster awareness of ethics and compliance. Behavior consistent with the HII Code of Ethics and Business Conduct is one of our most important workplace responsibilities.

Ethics and Compliance Awareness Month is a great time to nominate co-workers for Values in Action Awards. This program recognizes shipbuilders who “go the extra mile” to display high standards of ethical behavior outside the scope of their normal job responsibilities. Any shipbuilder can nominate a fellow shipbuilder for this award at any time of the year.

Shipbuilders who witness or suspect a violation should raise the concern immediately with their management, Business Conduct Officer or Human Resources. They can also report it to the OpenLine at 1-877-631-0020.

Visit the Ethics & Business Conduct website on MyNNS for more information.
