Shipbuilders from E83 Reactor Plant Planning Yard (RPPY) once again donated a significant amount of school supplies during Newport News Shipbuilding’s School Tools Drive. In 2022, the department collected 2,100 items. The team built on last year’s generosity and donated more than 3,700 items this year.

The Standard Navy Valve Yard Group (SNVY) within E83 donated a majority of the items and took pride in helping lead this effort. These school supplies will go to departments of social services in Newport News and York/Poquoson, The Boys & Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula, ForKids Inc., Healthy Families Partnership Inc. and An Achievable Dream. These organizations will help facilitate distribution of these supplies to children who are in need.
