Shipbuilders across Newport News Shipbuilding’s Engineering, Technology and Design division came together to donate a significant amount of school supplies for this year’s School Tools Drive. E50 Propulsion & Reactor Engineering Planning Yard (PREPY) donated 252 backpacks – over half of the shipyard’s total goal – and Aircraft Carrier Engineering (ACE) held its annual school tools competition, with E22 CVN Hull Structure taking home the ACE Golden Apple.

These school supplies will go to the Newport News Department of Social Services, Hampton Social Services, York/Poquoson Social Services, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula, ForKids, Inc. and Achievable Dream. These organizations are facilitating distribution of these supplies to children who are in need.
