Newport News Shipbuilding Talent Acquisition is hosting open interviews for entry-level and trainee fitter (X11) and welder (X18) positions on May 25 and June 1 at the NNS Employment Office at NetCenter (Suite 176). Join the African American Shipbuilders Association (AASA) and the American Red Cross for a lunch and learn from 12-12:30 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. Alexis Innis of ARC Blood Services will provide information ahead of the June 22 Sickle Cell Anemia Blood Drive at NNS. Open to all employees. No charge will be provided.


JUNE 7
The Apprentice School is hosting a recruiting event on at Applebee’s (Bldg. 227) from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. to provide information about the school’s admissions and transfer process. A representative will be on-site to answer questions, provide information about The Apprentice School, review unofficial transcripts (if provided), and offer guidance based on a review of transcripts. Learn the benefits of attending The Apprentice School and information about Night School. No charge will be provided. Employees should stop by during their lunch break or before/after their shift.

The 17th annual F. Farrell Sanders Apprentice Athletic Club Golf Tournament will be held at Ford’s Colony Country Club. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and there will be a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Join The Apprentice School Student Association at Kingsmill Resort at 7:30 a.m. for its first golf tournament in support of breast cancer awareness. The entry fee will be $100 per person, with teams of four. Each team must include at least one apprentice or alumnus to participate. Lunch will be provided along with raffles and giveaways.
