“Ten Thousand” Thursday

SHIPs Network’s Book Club is hosting their monthly book meeting at Tokyo Steakhouse (2026 Coliseum Dr, Hampton, VA 23666) at 4:30 p.m. This month’s book is “Ten Thousand Doors of January” by Alix E. Harrow (must provide your own copy). You can read (or listen to) the book at your own pace then come out with some fellow shipbuilders to review, eat and have some fun! This event is open to all shipbuilders. There is no charge provided to attend this event.

Afterwork Book Club with WiSE

The WISE ERG will host an afterwork book club meeting. This month’s book is “The Anatomy of Alibi” by Ashley Elston. The discussion will be hosted by Ebonie Morrison and Sharell Staton and is open to all NNS employees.

L.E.A.R.N. Afterwork Event with Rob Check
Location: VASCIC Auditorium
The L.E.A.R.N. Program and ANCHORS will co-host an after-work presentation with Rob Check, vice president, In-Service Aircraft Carrier Programs, in the VASCIC Auditorium. The event is open to all employees by reservation only. Sign up on the L.E.A.R.N. SharePoint Site or through your Foreman. Both in-person and virtual options are available.

Relay For Life of the Peninsula
Location: Todd Stadium, 12465 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA
Newport News Shipbuilding will join forces with the American Cancer Society, sponsoring the 2026 Peninsula Relay For Life. This community event unites cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers and passionate people who believe in a future free from cancer. Everyone is encouraged to show their support and attend this event.
