On Wednesday, Aug. 26, Newport News shipbuilders working to deliver Arkansas (SSN 800) had the opportunity to attend the first Finish Strong cookout.

Hosted across all three shifts, the Finish Strong series gives senior leaders a chance to speak directly with shipbuilders who are tasked with delivering on the company’s most critical current projects and milestones.

Bryan Caccavale, vice president of Program Management, thanked shipbuilders for their ongoing effort to deliver Arkansas this year.

“Keep the momentum going,” he said. “Finishing strong on Arkansas may be more important than you all realize. Every day you come down here and find a win – package by package, test by test. You guys are so close and it is exciting to see.”

Attendees received a meal and commemorative Finish Strong lanyard.
