Members of FitNNS, the employee resource group (ERG) that promotes physical, mental and financial fitness, excelled in the 2024 ADP Corporate 5K held recently.

The Newport News Shipbuilding coed team took first place in the defense contractors category. The event promotes health and wellness in the workplace by hosting an evening with colleagues around the subject of fitness.

“The ADP 5K was one of my favorite memories of my intern experience,” said Joiner Love, an E03 engineering intern. “The atmosphere, people and race made me feel like I was truly part of NNS.”

Love said FitNNS offered encouragement to stay active and network outside of the work environment, adding, “FitNNS has truly left a positive impact not only on my fitness, but my future career goals.”

FitNNS is on a mission to encourage all shipbuilders to live a healthy, well-rounded lifestyle and to connect shipbuilders across all divisions of HII.
