Due to recent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) legislation changes, Newport News Shipbuilding is requiring the reconfiguration of all Kenwood handheld radios by April 26.

All departments must complete an inventory of handheld radios and schedule reconfiguration appointments with the O43 Radio Shop via [email protected]. All unused radios should also be returned at this time. Emails should include the following information:

• Point of contact (name, department number and phone number)
• Quantity of radios
• Preferred appointment date

Failure to reconfigure will lead to loss of radio service for those individual units and put NNS at risk of noncompliance with the FCC. Appointment inquiries should be made as soon as possible for efficient planning and implementation.
