Happy Thanksgiving

Published November 22, 2022

As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving this week, I’d like to take a moment to thank every Newport News shipbuilder for their dedication to our mission of “Always Good Ships” in support of our nation. I am also thankful for the way you impact the communities in which we live and work.

Thank you to the thousands of shipbuilders who volunteer and work to make our communities better. In the past few weeks alone, you have provided critical support for the local foodbank through our annual food drive, supported the American Heart Association during the Hampton Roads Heart Walk and so much more.

On the shipbuilding side, we laid the keel for Arkansas (SSN 800) with members of the Little Rock Nine last weekend. Thank you to the shipbuilders whose work supported that milestone and so many others to come on all of our programs.

Shipbuilding isn’t just a job. It’s a calling. We have the unique opportunity to make history together as we build the strongest, most capable Navy fleet the world has ever known.

Thank you for choosing to work here and for giving back. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
