Newport News Shipbuilding employees can receive free COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday, Aug. 26, without leaving the shipyard.

Walk-ins will be accepted at Bldg. 4931-1, PCU Assembly Room, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vaccines will be administered by QuadMed, which operates the HII Family Health Center. They will be offering the Pfizer vaccine, first and second shots.

This is a convenient way to protect yourself from the more highly contagious delta variant of COVID-19, which has spurred an increase in cases at NNS and elsewhere. There is a time charge for this event for hourly employees. Salaried employees should flex their time.

Vaccines are also available at the HII Family Health Center, located at
4500 Washington Ave. The health center also offers vaccines to employee spouses and dependents age 12 and up if they are covered by an HII Anthem health plan.
