Information Regarding Upcoming Engagement and Stay Surveys

Employee feedback is vital to our mission of building great ships. One of the ways Newport News Shipbuilding receives feedback is through company-wide surveys facilitated by an outside vendor.
Annually, NNS participates in an engagement survey that measures how well employees are connected to our mission. The survey is facilitated through Gallup and results guide leaders’ understanding of how they are performing as a team – as well as what areas could be improved.
Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 21, all NNS employees will have the opportunity to participate in the engagement survey. Employees with company computer access will receive an email from Gallup with a link to the survey. Employees without company computer access will take the survey at a designated time with their crew during work hours. A list of frequently asked questions is available on MyNNS.
In addition to the engagement survey, hourly employees will have the opportunity to participate in a stay survey, which consists of 10 questions focused on employee retention and attracting new talent to NNS. Earlier this year, salaried employees had the opportunity to participate in this survey. Feedback obtained will help us create a work environment that inspires people to be their best as we continue to build our world-class workforce.
