Join the Movement: Heart Walk Kick-Off at NNS
Published August 27, 2025
Newport News Shipbuilding is stepping up for heart health, and shipbuilders are invited to take the first stride. On Thursday, Sept. 4, from 4 p.m. to 5, shipbuilders will gather at Brooks Crossing (Bldg. 888) for the internal Heart Walk kick-off, energizing new and returning team captains and marking the beginning of the 2025 Heart Walk campaign.
In partnership with the American Heart Association (AHA), NNS Gives is championing a cause that impacts millions. Heart disease and stroke remain the first and fifth causes for death in the U.S. The AHA has invested over $5 billion in research, advocated for public health policies and provided essential education and resources to communities nationwide.
By joining the Heart Walk, shipbuilders become part of a powerful movement – raising awareness, funding research and saving lives.
There is a place for everyone in this campaign. Here’s how to make an impact:
- Create or Join a Team: Rally your department, ERG, or group of friends.
- Make a Donation: Every dollar helps fund critical research and education.
- Buy a T-shirt: NNS Heart Walk T-shirts will be available soon.
- Attend a Walk: Choose one of the two locations and represent NNS.
