At Newport News Shipbuilding, we encourage all shipbuilders to “know the score.” What gets measured gets improved, and it’s important for you to know and understand your team’s performance so you take ownership of team improvements and innovations.

Knowing the score also applies to your health, so I encourage you to participate in the company’s Know Your Numbers program. Just like measuring team performance, Know Your Numbers helps you measure and track your important health numbers – including your blood pressure, cholesterol and hemoglobin A1C.

When you complete the program, you earn a $600 discount on your HII Anthem medical insurance premium for the 2024 benefits year, which will begin on July 1, or be entered into a quarterly drawing. The program deadline is March 31, so take action now.

There are several convenient options to complete your biometric health screening for the program:

• Visit the HII Family Health Center, located across from the 46th street gate. Walk-ins are welcome.
• Attend an onsite event near your worksite.
• Complete the health screening with your primary care provider.
