The Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School Jaycees took home several awards at the 2024 Virginia Jaycees State Conference earlier this month.

Apprentice School Jaycees were recognized for the annual Back-To-School Skate Party and Jaycees Vision Board Party, where they recruited more than six members. Shipbuilders earning individual awards included:

  Outstanding Local President
• Rosa Rainey (O22)
  Leadership Award
• Deborah Pittman (X41)
  Outstanding Local Officer
• Levi Cole (X43)
  First Timers Competition

Awards were handed out March 9 by Brian Morris, the 89th Virginia Jaycees president, and Jaketa Thompson, 2024 American Development Council commissioner. The Apprentice School Jaycees are proud of all the work that was put in and look forward to another successful year.
