NNS Field Day Information

Published February 10, 2023

Shipbuilders,

Shipyard cleanliness is important to our health and safety, and providing a clean work environment inspires greater productivity and pride in where we work. As you likely read in the EH&S Take 5 issued yesterday, Newport News Shipbuilding will kick off a series of “Field Day” events beginning Monday, Feb. 13, to reset NNS’ cleanliness standards and clean up all workspaces inside and outside of the shipyard gates, including offices.

General areas of focus will be on reestablishing cleaning standards, maintaining clear fire lanes, fire prevention and line management practices. Inside the shipyard, housekeeping areas have been assigned and team leads have been assigned by program or division. Management will share expectations unique to your area and provide charging information.

Areas and points of contact can be found on MyNNS. Next week’s Field Day schedule is as follows:

  • Feb. 13 – Areas 1 and 2
  • Feb. 14 – Area 3
  • Feb. 15 – Area 4
  • Feb. 16 – Area 5
  • Feb. 17 – Rain date and completion of any outstanding items

Like safety, good housekeeping is everyone’s responsibility. Please keep your workspaces clean and thank you for doing your part to make our work environment the best it can be.

Respectfully,

Karey Malyszko
Vice President, Plant Operations
