April is National Volunteer Month, and NNS Gives is celebrating the many Newport News shipbuilders who are dedicating time to help others.

Nominate an NNS volunteer to be recognized in April. Visit the MyNNS Volunteer Opportunities site to nominate up to three shipbuilders in four unique areas:

1. ​NNS Gives programs (SEEKnns, School Tools Drive, blood drives, holiday food drive, Relay For Life).
2. United Way (someone involved with United Way and/or does a great job for NNS’ United Way campaign).​
3. Internal programs (sets up and oversees volunteer events that include employees and others).
4. External volunteer (employees who support causes out in the community and help others).​

When nominating candidates, please share some information about their efforts.

Join the NNS Gives team at Coastal Fermentory from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, as nominees are announced and recognized. The event includes an award ceremony, NNS Gives swag and light appetizers. All volunteers and shipbuilders are encouraged to attend this event, which is open to the public.

Nominations close on Monday, April 20.
