Newport News Shipbuilding is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Brooks Crossing (Bldg. 888). There are many slots available for donors, and those who donate will receive a time charge. There is an urgent need for type O donors.

To schedule an appointment:

• Register online at redcrossblood.org and use code NNS888 (Brooks Crossing) in the search field.
• Use the Blood Donor American Red Cross app. Enter code NNS888 (Brooks Crossing) to locate the drive, register, store your information and complete the RapidPass check-in on the day of the event.
