Newport News Shipbuilding Talent Acquisition will host a walk-in trades hiring event on June 20 at the NNS Employment Office, located at NetCenter, Suite 176, Entrance 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This event is for high school seniors or recent high school graduates interested in a trades career with NNS.

To encourage more high school students to consider trades jobs at NNS, the company is offering $1,000 sign-on bonuses and up to $1,000 in relocation for qualified candidates. Trades jobs include entry-level and trainee CNC machinists, deck electricians, insulators, marine painters, outside machinists, pipe fitters, riggers, sheet metal workers, shipfitters and welders.

Starting pay is more than $21 per hour.
