NNS Issues New Guidance for Working From Home
Published December 8, 2020
As a result of recent surges in COVID-19 cases across the country and region, Newport News Shipbuilding employees who are currently working from home must continue to work remotely for the foreseeable future.
Employees who are not currently working from home but who believe they can do so must work with their management teams to evaluate remote options. Management teams will work with part-time remote workers to evaluate full-time remote options. Employees who have not done so should complete their flexible work arrangement forms in MyHR.
Employees should coordinate any IT needs with supervisors.
“Despite the evolving nature of the virus, one thing has remained constant: social distancing, wearing masks and maintaining good personal hygiene helps to stop the spread of COVID-19,” Susan Jacobs, vice president of Human Resources and Administration, wrote in a message to employees Monday, Dec. 7. “Minimizing our onsite workforce to the greatest extent possible provides another layer of protection to keep all of our employees and their families safe.”
