Newport News Shipbuilding will return to normal operations beginning with first shift tomorrow – Tuesday, Dec. 9.

With temperatures expected to remain near freezing, we understand that road conditions may be challenging for some shipbuilders in the morning. Safety remains our top priority and if road conditions are unsafe where you live and you are unable to report to work as a result, please let your supervisor know.

NNS shipbuilders working at offsite locations should follow offsite reporting direction.

Our Facilities teams have done a great job working through today’s winter weather to keep our shipyard safe and operational. Crews will continue to treat stairways, walkways and parking lots to ensure our facility remains as safe as possible. NNS shuttle services remain operational.
