Newport News Shipbuilding’s Culture and Engagement Office, along with NNS engagement champions, will host the 2025 Culture and Engagement Week from Monday, Sept. 8, to Friday, Sept. 12.

The week will consist of multiple events focused on awareness, education and action. Each day of the week will feature pop-up events across the shipyard and are open to all NNS shipbuilders. These events will connect shipbuilders with one another and the communities they serve.

Brandy Majors (E82) is an engagement champion who believes shipbuilders are the company’s greatest asset.

“Culture and Engagement Week is a time to celebrate collaboration, recognize achievements and reinforce the values that make Newport News Shipbuilding more than a workplace. It’s a community that aids in homeland security,” she said. “It encourages us to pause, reflect and intentionally connect with colleagues, building a culture where every voice is heard and every contribution counts.”

John Witherspoon (O53), an engagement champion in Supply Chain Management, says “Culture and Engagement Week brings the subject of engagement back to the hearts and minds of every shipbuilder.”
