Newport News Shipbuilding’s School Tools Drive runs through Friday, Aug. 7.

Shipbuilders are encouraged to support students in the community by donating school supplies at any of the designated donation boxes and yard bins located near turnstiles, as well as the silver donation bin by the Rock.

Anyone can take the lead by placing a donation box in their workspace and encouraging co-workers to contribute. Find out how to get boxes and posters on the MyNNS School Tool Drive site.

This year’s drive also features the “Backpack Challenge,” a goal to collect 500 backpacks, surpassing last year’s record of 400.
