Newport News Shipbuilding continues to monitor the forecast. Based on current weather predictions, NNS remains open and will conduct normal operations through first shift on Friday, Jan. 21. Employees scheduled to work on Friday should be aware that there will be no food truck service available.

Hourly employees unable to work as scheduled should use the automated call in system to report their absence; salaried employees should contact their supervisor directly.

NNS employees working at offsite locations such as Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Naval Station Norfolk should follow offsite location reporting direction.

Please be cautious and heed all VDOT warnings. If operations are impacted, updates will be communicated via the Employee Information Phone Line (1-877-871-2058), NNS email and company websites, Send Word Now, the NNS to Go app, and social media channels (HII pages and NNS President Jennifer Boykin’s Facebook page).
