NNS to Undergo NAVSEA Security Audit March 18-22

Newport News Shipbuilding will undergo a Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Security Evaluation March 18-22.
This 2024 NAVSEA Security Evaluation will focus on all security-related matters and capabilities, including physical security, personnel security, industrial security, information protection/security, operations security, cybersecurity and need-to-know. This evaluation will assess the effectiveness of the NNS security programs to ensure compliance with 32 CFR, Part 117, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) mandates. While all areas of NNS are susceptible to inspection, the focal area selected for assessment will primarily be classified holdings or computer systems throughout the facility, including external buildings. The NAVSEA Evaluation Team can tour facilities during any shift.
