E86 Engineering Manager Eric Scott was recognized by the Nuclear Propulsion Division’s (NPD) Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) champions as the division’s most engaged manager of 2022.

Second and third place went to Emanuel Willis (E85) and Eric Lachman (E84), respectively. NPD ED&I champions invited shipbuilders to nominate anyone in management in NPD or Kesselring who:

  • Works toward team involvement.
  • Embraces different perspectives and experiences.
  • Promotes and sustains a sense of belonging.
  • Empowers others by recognizing an individual’s worth.
  • Goes over and beyond for their team.

The ED&I champions received 102 nominations. To choose the most engaged manager, champions considered the number of nominations per person and the write-ups that accompanied the nominations.

“We were very touched by what was said about the managers who were chosen,” said Phyllis Evans, NPD ED&I champion lead. “The nominators who participated wanted to recognize the great job that their management was doing to encourage engagement, diversity and inclusion within their groups and departments.”

Managers who received an honorable mention were recognized in a divisionwide email. The ED&I champions hope to continue the tradition each year.
