Parking Hangtag Recovery

Published August 19, 2026

To ensure that zone parking at Newport News Shipbuilding remains as accessible as possible to current, on-site shipbuilders, the Parking and Transportation team is asking for your help in recovering hangtags that are no longer in use. Shipbuilders are asked to check spaces like desk drawers and send any unused hangtags to the Parking Solutions Office (Bldg. 86-1) via Yardmail.

Shipbuilders who work at off-site locations, such as Bldgs. 601, 603, 906 or 913, Copeland Park, West Park or NetCenter, are not issued parking hangtags. If you have been relocated to an off-site location, you must surrender your zone hangtag to the Parking Solutions Office.

Off-site shipbuilders whose job requires them to come to the shipyard’s main campus should use taxi services, which are available from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. until 12 a.m. Monday through Friday, by calling 757-846-7730. Alternatively, if traveling by department-owned or personally-owned vehicle, contact the Bldg. 520 security desk by calling 757-688-3888 to reserve a spot in the visitor lot – located on the west end of the Zone A parking lot between 42nd and 43rd streets – or use street parking. Large groups may reserve a van by submitting a vehicle request form.

As a reminder, NNS parking hangtags are company property and may only be used by the shipbuilder to whom they are assigned. Hangtags are not to be tampered with, modified, sold, copied, transferred or given to any other NNS shipbuilder, Navy personnel, suppliers, subcontractors, or any other non-company individuals.
