To foster a safer, more secure and productive environment, Newport News Shipbuilding is formalizing the policy regarding personal cell phone use during scheduled work hours, effective Monday, May 18.

While still permitted on company property, personal cell phones must be stored in a toolbox, desk drawer, purse, backpack or similar space during working hours. This policy applies to all shipbuilders, and personal cell phone use is permitted only during regular lunch periods.
