New Parking Garage
In 2024, plans to construct a parking garage on existing Newport News Shipbuilding parking lots located between 37th and 39th streets along Huntington Avenue and Warwick Boulevard were announced. Construction of the garage began in December 2024. Once complete, the multi-level garage will provide increased parking for both NNS employees and U.S. Navy sailors.

The footprint of the garage has been finalized. However, the total number of spaces within the garage and allocations for shipbuilders and sailors has not been finalized. NNS will share updates and add information to frequently asked questions as details are confirmed.

Parking Garage Counters
Newport News Shipbuilding has installed parking counters in the Bldg. 902 and 903 garages to indicate to drivers the number of available spaces by level. Employees can also view current garage counter information in the Parking and Transportation section of the NNS to Go app. This is a pilot program, and if it goes well, the company anticipates installing these at other parking garages. The counters became operational in January 2025.
