Red Cross Thanks Shipbuilders

Published March 29, 2023

March is Red Cross Month. Newport News Shipbuilding and its employees provide a lifeline for the American Red Cross and the people who depend on its services.

That support is so important that representatives from the Red Cross recently visited NNS to thank shipbuilders.

“We are so thankful for our partnership with Newport News Shipbuilding because you are our largest financial supporter here in Coastal Virginia, and you’re also our largest collector of blood,” said Katie Niehoff, executive director of the Red Cross’ Coastal Virginia chapter.

During the visit, shipbuilders could explore the Red Cross’ new emergency response vehicle (ERV), which was purchased thanks to support from NNS. Watch this video to learn more about the relationship between NNS and the Red Cross.
