As a reminder, the use of tobacco products is prohibited on Newport News Shipbuilding property. This includes parking lots and turnstiles and also applies to employees who are on NNS property while transiting to their vehicles. Employees also are reminded that possession of vaping devices and electronic cigarettes is not permitted on company property.

Shipbuilders who witness tobacco use on company property or on company time should report it to their supervisors and/or Human Resources or Labor Relations representative. Evidence of tobacco use, such as cigarette butts, should be reported to the local fire warden for investigation. Employees who violate the tobacco-free policy are subject to immediate disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
