To use handicap parking spaces on Newport News Shipbuilding property, shipbuilders are required to display a unique NNS-issued parking hangtag in addition to a state-issued disabled parking placard or license plate. Any vehicle parked in a handicap space and not displaying both is subject to towing at the owner’s expense.

To apply for the NNS hangtag, fill out the application on MyNNS. Shipbuilders without computer access should ask their supervisor to submit the application on their behalf.

NNS hangtags must be picked up from Bldg. 86-1 (Reproduction Area). Shipbuilders must present their disabled identification card issued by their state of residence to obtain the company hangtag. If there are no handicap parking spaces available, the NNS hangtag will allow shipbuilders to park in their designated zoned parking lot.
