Newport News Shipbuilding’s 2022 School Tools Drive was scheduled to wrap up Friday, Aug. 5, but to accommodate Virginia’s Tax-Free Weekend, donations will be accepted through Tuesday, Aug. 9.

Waterfront weatherproof containers located at gate turnstiles will remain open through Tuesday, and department collections can be dropped off at NetCenter through Wednesday, Aug. 10. Shipbuilders can also shop online to support the drive through Tuesday, Aug. 9. Online donations are tax free and tax deductible. There are no delivery fees, and items are shipped directly to the selected agency.
