Security Review Set for June 2-6
Published January 22, 2025
The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) will conduct a security review at Newport News Shipbuilding during the week of June 2-6.
The review will assess the effectiveness of the company’s overall security posture in relation to compliance with federal regulations. All areas of NNS are subject to review, but the effort will primarily focus on classified holdings and computer systems throughout the main yard and external buildings.
The review can cover facilities and employees during all shifts.
The DCSA team may select any employee for an interview. Shipbuilders should limit their responses to only what is requested and fully answer each question. Always be polite, professional and fully cooperative.
To be better prepared and informed, it is highly recommended that employees visit MyNNS to view the following:
- DCSA Security Rating Criteria Reference Card
- DCSA Appointed Personnel Duties
- DCSA Gold Standard Criteria
More definitive information, direct assistance and training will be communicated and deployed leading up to and throughout this review.
