Jayden Rogers was recently honored with a Level One On-the-Spot Ethics award for coming to the aid of a motorist during a traffic accident.
Rogers was driving to work on Sept. 20 when he noticed an individual waving for help on the side of the road. Rogers stopped to help and noticed a car on its side with a motorist trapped inside. After attempting to cut the seat belt, the engine compartment ignited. Rogers quickly kicked out the partially broken rear window and was able to release the seatbelt, pulling the motorist to safety before the car exploded.
Les Smith, vice president of Enterprise (CVN 80), Doris Miller (CVN 81) and Future Aircraft Carrier Programs, met with Rogers to present the award and thank him for his actions.
