Members of the Learning and Development team recently participated in the United Way Day of Caring “No Shame, Period” event.

The NNS team, led by O36 Manager Michelle Avery, helped pack 2,024 period packs for local elementary and middle school nurses to provide for students all over Hampton Roads. The intent is to eradicate the shame and stigma of menstruation for this generation of students in Hampton Roads.

“We enjoy working on service projects together. It contributes to feelings of unity and comradery within our organization,” Avery said.

Paige Snell (O36), training developer, added, “As a newer member of the department, it was nice to get together with my colleagues and get to know them a little more while volunteering our time for such a good cause.”
