Seven Newport News Shipbuilding employees were honored during a pair of national conferences last week.

At the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) National Convention in Atlanta, Aris Vincent Picardo was recognized for professional achievement and Sarah Thomas was recognized as a promising professional.

Five more shipbuilders were honored during the 28th annual Women of Color STEM Conference in Detroit. Aracelis McAloon and Ebony Hedgepeth were recognized as technology rising stars. Cenise Waites, Chona Kelly and Keisha Anderson were named technology all-stars.
