Shipbuilders Judge Science Fair

Published April 27, 2021

Newport News Shipbuilding employees Antionette Arnold, Janice Boone, Lewis Fisher, Sunny Harvat, Corban Van Ornum and Devon Stanley were judges in the 17th annual Norfolk Public Schools science fair.

The science fair provided students in grades 3-7 the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of scientific concepts through innovative scientific research and investigation as well as show off their investigative skills and creativity. The Science Office of Norfolk Public Schools strives to prepare students to be productive contributors to society through science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning opportunities.

Due to COVID-19, projects were judged virtually. Each judge had to go through a training session and judge the students’ work based on a criteria from a rubric.
