The Apprentice School held a successful recruiting event in the shipyard at Applebees (Bldg. 227) earlier this month. Apprentice School staff enjoyed sharing information with shipbuilders about opportunities at the school for those who wish to further their education, advance in their career, and grow their leadership skills.

Shipbuilders came ready with transcripts to be reviewed. The Apprentice School thanks each shipbuilder who stopped by and looks forward to having another recruiting event in the yard come fall. Current Newport News Shipbuilding employees who meet the academic requirements and have completed the six-month probationary period are encouraged to apply. Individuals short of a few academic requirements or in need of improving grades can take advantage of the Night School Program.
