Newport News Shipbuilding employee resource groups (ERGs) facilitate quarterly financial wellness workshop events in partnership with BayPort Credit Union. In April, shipbuilders came together for “Financial Bingo” to learn how to improve their financial health and build their paths to financial wellness.

Five shipbuilders – Chai Douanglee (X18), Gabriela Hernandez (E35), Khalyiah Brown (O51), KyArhea Newby (K21) and Maleka Walker (X76) – each won a $1,000 debt paydown through a drawing for the participation in April’s financial wellness workshops.

Attend the July workshops:

• Tuesday, July 21, at 12 p.m. via Microsoft Teams: “Don’t Sweat Your Score!”
• Wednesday, July 22, at 12 p.m. via Microsoft Teams: “Saving SMART”
• Thursday, July 23, at 4 p.m. at Coastal Fermentory: “Financial BINGO”

All shipbuilders who attend the virtual sessions will receive a gift card. During July’s “Financial Bingo,” five attendees will win a $1,000 debt paydown.

Shipbuilders interested in attending any of these workshops must register on MyNNS to reserve their space. These workshops are open to all shipbuilders. There is no charge provided to participate in these events.
