Newport News Shipbuilding is accepting applications for 2026 summer internships.

The intern program is a key pipeline for developing future talent. Interns are offered meaningful employment with the goal of full-time employment once they graduate. For 2026, summer intern positions at NNS will be limited primarily to jobs that support direct contracts.

To qualify, students must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and be enrolled in degree programs that match NNS’ future hiring needs. Preference will be given to students majoring in accounting, business, computer science, engineering, finance, IT or supply chain management.

Students are expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week for 10 weeks during the summer months (May through August).
